Job Description:
The Neuroscience department is looking for a motivated PhD-level Molecular Biologist to develop innovative AAV-based tools for targeting CNS in the context of neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. The ideal candidate will have strong background in the design, development and optimization of viral vectors. The Investigator will assume a crucial role in the development of a proprietary gene delivery platform through implementation of cutting-edge technologies and will conceive, conduct, and analyze experiments using a variety of in-vivo and in-vitro models. Prior experience with viral vector construction is paramount. Experience with molecular evolution techniques, next generation sequencing, structural biology, and/or bioinformatics, would be a major plus. In addition, biochemical and histological techniques, rodent surgery, imaging, cell cultures and other in-vivo and in-vitro techniques will be heavily utilized within projects. Excellent communication skills and teamwork will be critical. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, dynamic department with state-of-the-art equipment.

Minimum requirements
The candidate should have a PhD degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related discipline with 0-2 years of postdoctoral training. Strong publication record is required with a demonstrated record of success in research projects in the AAV gene therapy arena. Hands-on experience with AAV vector development and optimization, and molecular biology background are required. The candidate should be able to work under minimal supervision, be team-oriented and collaborative. The candidate should be an effective communicator, be organized and detail-oriented, and adept at troubleshooting.
