      Computational biology, focused on the development and application of analytic and theoretical methods of data processing, mathematical modeling and computational simulation techniques, toward the study of biological systems, is rooted in life sciences as well as computer and information sciences and technologies, drawing from specific disciplines such as mathematics, physics, computer science and engineering, biology, and behavioral science.
